Darlene Sogn

I married Bruce Sogn in 2003, moved from Florida to Minnesota, and joined him at Oakwood Insurance Agency located just off Hwy. 10 on the corner of Hanson & Northdale Blvd. in Coon Rapids, MN. Our blended family consists of 3 adult boys, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Before joining my husband in the insurance industry, for 4 years I ran two retail stores as a civilian at NAS Bermuda. I later returned to my hometown of Leonardtown, Maryland and went to work with a Contractor to Naval Air Systems Command working on Operational Logistic Support Plans for the F-18 Fighter jet. I transferred to Pensacola to work for BellSouth Advertising and Publishing where I worked in sales and management. I was very active with the local area Chambers of Commerce and continued to support them once I moved to Minnesota. I am serving my second term on the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and am currently the active Vice Chairperson of the board. For the past several years, I have been the chair of their annual gala fundraiser, chair their annual golf tournament fundraiser, volunteer on several committees, and serve as an ambassador for the Anoka Area Chamber. I love working with all of the members and supporting local businesses. I have served as an ambassador for the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce and volunteer each year at their annual fundraiser. I am a strong supporter of our Veterans, First Responders. and all of those who serve this great nation. My Stepfather retired as a US Naval Chief, my husband is a US Army Vietnam Veteran, and I spent many years both overseas and at home supporting the Navy, Marine Corps, and US Navy Seabees when living at NAS Bermuda and near Patuxent River Naval Air Station close to my hometown in Maryland. Giving back to the community, being of service, and helping those in need is one of my biggest joys. When not working I enjoy spending time gardening, landscaping, reading, and being active in my church. I often help our church in raising funds for missions. My favorite saying is "You can't out give God." I truly feel that I am blessed because I always strive to be a blessing to others. At Oakwood Insurance, our primary focus is on the individual needs of the client. We have a full staff who work in teams and are broken out into groups from Personal lines, Commercial/Small Business, Life, Disability, Health, Medicare, Employee Benefits and Group insurance. Bruce and I both have extensive management and sales experience which allows us to fully understand the needs of the business owner. We strive not to just sell you insurance but to educate you on the different coverages available so that you can make the best choice for your needs.
